POONCH, NOVEMBER 10: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review the arrangements for Diwali festival in the district.

The DC discussed various arrangements including the installation of firecracker sale stalls, security measures, traffic regulation, drinking water supply, power supply, sanitation, quality and price monitoring of food items, and the deployment of fire tenders.

Ensuring the well-being and convenience of the public, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Department (PDD) were instructed to ensure an adequate supply of drinking water and uninterrupted power during the festivities.

The Executive Officer of the Municipality was entrusted with conducting a comprehensive sanitation drive in the town to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Likewise, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to make necessary first aid arrangements for any emergency situations that may arise.

The Fire & Emergency department was directed to station standby fire-fighting tenders at the cracker sale venue. Furthermore, the District and Traffic Police were urged to ensure proper traffic management within the limits of Poonch town throughout the festive period.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of all departments ensuring foolproof arrangements related to their respective responsibilities well in advance.

In order to monitor the rates and quality of products, particularly sweets, eatables, and fruit items during the festive days, the Assistant Director of Food Supply and the Tehsildar Haveli were directed to conduct joint inspections of the market.
