Four Feared Dead, Several Injured in Sumo Vehicle Overturn at Nati Top Gabra, Tangdar, Kupwara

Tragedy struck in North Kashmir’s Kupwara as a Sumo vehicle carrying multiple passengers overturned at Nati Top in Gabra, Tangdar, leading to the feared deaths of four individuals and causing injuries to several others.

According to initial reports, a fully occupied Sumo lost control and skidded off the road at Nati Top in Gabra, Tangdar, resulting in a devastating accident that claimed the lives of four passengers. Several others on board the vehicle sustained injuries, and immediate medical attention was required.

Swift response from local residents and the police was crucial in assisting and evacuating the injured passengers from the accident site. The injured individuals have been promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for necessary medical treatment, where medical personnel are working diligently to provide the care they require.

In the wake of this tragic incident, a police party has been dispatched to the scene to verify the actual details and gather further information about the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The names of the deceased individuals are as follows:

1. Saida Bano, aged 22, resident of Nowagabra, daughter of Nazir Ahmad Awan.
2. Mohd Sayeed Raina, aged 55, son of Late Abdul Rahman, resident of Nowagabra.
3. Razia Bano, aged 18, daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Kadlal, resident of Nowagabra.
4. Nusrat Begum, aged 35, wife of Mohd Idrees Awan, resident of Nowagabra.

This incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for preventive measures to avoid such tragic accidents. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims, and the local authorities are working diligently to investigate the incident further.
