Dussehra celebrated with religious fervor in district Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 24: The festival of Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashmi, was celebrated today at various location across district Kishtwar.

The mega celebration took place at prestigious Chowgan Ground Kishtwar with exuberance and fervor in the picturesque district of Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir.

Thousands of devotees and locals joined in the festivities, marking the occasion with the traditional ritual of consigning effigies of Ravana, Kumbkarna, and Meghnatha to flames.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, on the occasion extended his warm greetings to the people of Kishtwar on this sacred occasion of Dussehra.

He expressed his hopes that this auspicious festival would usher in an era of fraternity, peace, progress, and prosperity for the region.

The celebrations witnessed the active participation of esteemed dignitaries, including SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmed Poswal; ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak; President of Sanatan Dharm Sabha, Surinder Sen; Former Minister Sunil Sharma, President of Adarsh Dramatic Club Kishtwar, and its club members; Tehsildar Kishtwar, Muneeb Umar, Mahant Ramsharan Dass Ji Maharaj, prominant socio-religious personalities of Kishtwar besides Several other senior officials from the civil and police administration.
