KULGAM, OCTOBER 22: In continuation to the ongoing “Meri Maata Mera Desh” campaign District Administration Kulgam today organized a grand Amrit Kalash programme at Mini Secretariat Kulgam.

During this grand function, Mitti Kalash from 11 Rural Blocks and 04 Municipalities containing mitti from households across the district was collected with much celebrative and patriotic enthusiasm at District Headquarter Kulgam. These Amrit Kalash will be sent to Divisional headquarters and then to New Delhi Kartavya Path for Amrit Vatika.

During the event, an impressive programme featuring theme-based cultural performances and Nukkad Natak by local artists were performed in a festive & celebrative atmosphere.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat said that the Amrit Kalash Yatra involved the collection of soil/mitti from each household across the district symbolizing unity and dedication to the nation.

He also highlighted that nationwide ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ Campaign under the banner of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahautsov (AKAM) aimed to pay tribute to the beloved Motherland and the courageous veers who have made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.

He added that the campaign marks the culmination of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which began on March 12, 2021, which witnessed extensive public participation across district Kulgam.

DDC- VC, Shazia Jan, DDC Member Behibagh, PRI members and Locals actively participated in the event.

ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACD Mohammad Imran, ACP Sharjeel Ali, BDOs, EOs and other officers and officials participated in the event.
