Teethwal Karnah, October 2, 2023 – In a poignant celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the village of Teethwal Karnah, nestled along the Line of Control (LoC), witnessed a day of unity, culture, and community engagement. Organized by the Reechmaar Regiment of the Indian Army and Shakti Vijay Bridge, the event brought together locals, students, and soldiers for a day of festivities.

The centerpiece of the celebration was a marathon organized by the Reechmaar Regiment and Shakti Vijay Bridge. Participants from the local community, including students, enthusiastically joined the marathon. Symbolizing Gandhi’s emphasis on non-violence, the event also featured a “Peace Race” where participants ran to promote peace and harmony.Cultural Activities: Beyond the marathon, the day was filled with vibrant cultural activities. The village came alive with music, dance, and art, as locals showcased their rich cultural heritage. A flag march through the village symbolized the unity and diversity of the community, highlighting the importance of Gandhi’s message of inclusivity.Musical Performances: The celebration featured mesmerizing musical performances by the renowned Karnah Band and the talented students of AGS Teethwal. The tunes resonated through the valley, enchanting the audience and encapsulating the spirit of the occasion.

What made this Gandhi Jayanti celebration truly special was the active participation of the local community and students. It wasn’t merely an event; it was a collective effort to commemorate the values and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
