SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 01: In a heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar (DLSA), participated in the national campaign “Swachhata Hi Sewa-2023 (SHS-2023)” by orchestrating a series of inspiring activities.

This noble endeavor marked the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a visionary who championed cleanliness, sustainability, and social responsibility.

DLSA held a Cleanliness drive and awareness at Muslim Public School, Srinagar. The grounds of Muslim Public School, Srinagar, bore witness to a remarkable transformation as DLSA Srinagar joined hands with the institution for a sweeping cleanliness drive.

The initiative drew the enthusiastic participation of staff members, teachers, Para Legal Volunteers and students who tirelessly worked to restore the school’s surroundings to their pristine glory.

Vice Chairperson of the institute, Asrar Ali, delivered an impassioned address during the campaign, emphasizing the profound importance of sustainability and the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives.

His words resonated deeply with all participants, highlighting the vital role that educational institutions play in shaping environmentally conscious citizens.

Also, a cleanliness drive and awareness Event was held at City School, Nowgam.

This multifaceted endeavor united staff members, teachers, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), and enthusiastic students in a collective effort to clean and beautify their surroundings.

The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Adv. Suhaila Ali, a distinguished resource person from DLSA Srinagar.

She eloquently conveyed the paramount importance of sustainability and effective waste management for the protection of our environment.

Her powerful words left an indelible mark on all attendees, reinforcing the responsibility we all bear in preserving the beauty of our planet.

These activities undertaken by DLSA Srinagar under the banner of SHS2023 not only pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi but also serve as a clarion call to the community.

They remind us all of the enduring values of cleanliness, sustainability, and collective responsibility that the Father of the Nation stood for.
