Asks DCs to clear all pending pension cases within 2 days

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 30: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar on Saturday chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and concerned Officers to review the progress made in clearance pending pension cases, PMAY Urban/ Rural, activities to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and other related issues.

Reviewing clearance of pension cases, the Director General Social Welfare Department apprised the Div Com about the district wise status.

The Div Com took strong note of pendency and directed Deputy Commissioners to clear all pending cases within 2 days.

The Div Com also reviewed allotment of land to landless under PMAY-G/ Urban. The Deputy Commissioners gave details about the number of claims received and those rejected after verification. The Div Com instructed DCs to complete allotments in a time-bound manner.

The Div Com also reviewed the action plan of districts to organise activities to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti.

The Director School Education Jammu apprised the Div Com that a series of activities have been organised including quiz, painting, debate, Essay Writing competitions in all the districts. In addition to these, he informed that Shanti Rally has also been organized, which commenced from Poonch and reached Jammu today after covering all the districts of Jammu division. It was informed that students and teachers participated in the Rally.

The Div Com directed DCs to upload the photographs of activities on the portal for which he suggested establishing control rooms in each district.

The meeting was attended by Director School Education, Ashok Sharma; Director General Social Welfare Department, Vivek Sharma; Additional Commissioner Jammu, Pankaj Katoch; Joint Director, Rural Development, Avleen Kour, Deputy Director Planning, Munish Dutta; Assistant Commissioner Central, Angrej Singh and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners alongwith Officers of line departments participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
