Transformer catches fire at Sopore’s Krankshivan Colony

A transformer went up in flames in Krankshivan Colony locality of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a 250 KV transformer at Alamdar locality of Krankshivan Colony in Sopore town caught fire, forcing a number of households to reel under darkness.

Soon after noticing the flames, locals informed the Fire and Emergency Services department following which the fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames.

“We have number of times informed the department to shift this transformer from the particular spot as it may prove dangerous to the mosque as it’s close to the proximity of a local mosque,” locals informed—(KNO)
