Woman, her 2 minor daughters charred alive in devastating fire in Ramban

A woman and her two minor daughters were charred alive while two persons were in a devastating fire in Rambban district on Wednesday, officials said.

They said that at least five temporary huts caught fire at HamerGali Panchayat Bingara and the woman Najma Begum (25) wife of Ibrahim, her two daughters— Iqra Banoo (2) and Assma Banoo (6) died on the spot. Two persons including Najma’s husband Ibrahim (35) and a 55-year-old woman Mirja Begum wife of Noorani were injured, they said. The injured duo was removed to hospital, they said.

Meanwhile, the fire gutted the five huts, destroying all belongings of the dwellers. Soon after the news, they said, locals and police rushed to the spot and tried to douse off the flames.

SHO Ramsoo Saroop Singh confirmed to GNS the death of the woman and her two minor daughters as well as injuries to two persons. He said that a case has been registered. (GNS)
