Dead body of missing engineer spotted in Jehlum in Baramulla

Baramulla, Aug 29: The dead body of a senior engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department Gurmeet Singh who had gone missing has been found at the lower Jehlum barrage in Gantamulla area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Executive Engineer Gurmeet Singh had gone to attend an official meeting in Baramulla town on Friday, but failed to report back at his home in the evening.

The family of the missing engineer had lodged a missing report and afterward, search operation to trace the engineer was started by police.

A police official told the news agency that an operation was launched to locate the body of the missing engineer and today the body was spotted at Gantamulla in the lower Jehlum barrage.

Pertinently, the the abandoned car of the engineer was found between Baramulla Eco Park and Sheeri town by the side of the Jhelum river.

The police official said that it will be premature to say whether it is a suicide or something else. “Investigation will reveal the truth,” he said.

Gurmeet Singh is the inhabitant of Rafiabad Sopore.
