Under the banner “Meri Maati Mera Desh”, a Mega Tiranga Rally was held at Zangli Park which was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan.
The Rally was organized by School Education Department Kupwara and Youth Services & Sports department in collaboration with District Administration Kupwara.
The Mega Tiranga Rally which started from Zangli Park went through Zangli Garrison and culminated at Fountain Chowk near By Pass Road Kupwara.
The Deputy Commissioner, ADC Kupwara, JD Planning, Chief Education Officer, ACD, CMO, DIO, DYS&SO and other district and sectoral officers took part in the rally along with hundreds of students from different schools of Kupwara Zone.
During the Tiranga Rally, the students with National Flags in their hands were raising patriotic slogans.
Meanwhile, Panch Pran Pledge was also taken by the participants including officers and students which was administered by the Deputy Commissioner.
Speaking to the media persons, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the concerned departments for conducting such a massive Tiranga Rally. She said that this is the biggest Tiranga Rally that Kupwara has ever seen in which children in large number took part with great fervor and enthusiasm.
The Deputy Commissioner said that in connection with “Meri Maati Mera Desh” Campaign, Tiranga Rallies and different programmes are being conducted in nooks and corners of the district. She added that in every Panchayat, Shilaphalakam memorial has been installed to honour the martyrs and war heroes especially local heroes.
Ayushi Sudan congratulated the residents of Kupwara district who are wholeheartedly participating in the ongoing campaign and are celebrating this Independence Day in a befitting manner.
