NYK Anantnag celebrates ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Anantnag under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India, celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with regard to “Meri Maati Mera Desh” programme in all blocks and panchayats of district Anantnag in collaboration with district administration and other stake holders. Meetings were also conducted in hybrid mode with all line departments, stakeholders, youth clubs, National Youth Volunteers, Mahila Mandals and CBOs.

The “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign envisages paying tribute to the Veers and luminaries who gave up their today for our tomorrow and made supreme scarifies for the nation. One of the important activities envisaged under the campaign is to use soil gathered from across the nation to create an Amrit Vatika (garden) along the Kartyva Path.

Further, some other activities for the celebration of the campaign were also conducted at each programme. These include:

1. Sila-Phalakam Installation: Veers of Nation who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country were venerated.

2. Pledge of Commitment: “Panch Pran” pledge was taken in each programme.

3. Vasudha Naman- In almost all grampanchyats and villages, 75 saplings of native species were planted in order to develop Amrit Vatika.

4. Veeron ka Vandan: The freedom fighters and relatives of deceased warriors were recognized and felicitated

5. National Flag Hoisting: The National flag was proudly hoisted and the National Anthem was resonated in unison, filling the air with patriotism and pride at each programme site.

6. Mitti Pledge: All employees and National Youth Volunteers participated in the campaign and took the Mitti Pledge and downloaded certificates of participation.
