Jammu tourism to promote offbeat tourist destinations

Organises mela in Lal Draman Doda

Directorate of Jammu Tourism, in collaboration with District Administration Doda and Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, organised Tourism Promotion Mela at Lal Draman here today. The event, supervised by Secretary Tourism Department, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, aimed to promote tourism in the region and showcase the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Lal Draman.

Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Pal Mahajan was the chief guest at the event who also inaugurated the Bijerni Lal Draman road. In his speech, he commended the Directorate of Tourism Jammu for promoting tourism in the region and emphasised the importance of showcasing Lal Draman’s natural beauty and cultural richness.

The Tourism Promotion Mela offered a diverse range of activities, including treks, zorbing, marathons, local cuisine, horse riding, Kabaddi championships, cultural performances and art and craft stalls. The event achieved its objectives with flying colors.

Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity), Abdul Jabbar briefed that the department will come up with more activities for off-beat destinations of Doda in the ongoing year and will also work towards promoting rural tourism and homestays.

The Lal Draman Mela will conclude on August 06, 2023 with a yoga session and trekking expedition
