Jammu August 04: Under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Director Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K Subash C Chhibber launched a mega plantation drive in and around Khel Gaon Nagrota, here.
A pledge was also administered wherein all the participants including students of HSS Nagrota took an oath to make India a developed nation and to Remove any trace of the colonial mindset while strengthening our national unity.
Beautiful flags were disturbed among the students by the Department of Youth Services and Sports. Enthusiastic students later on took a rally and expressed their love towards the Nation.
Soon after the plantation drive was launched, Director YSS said that panting tree is the best type of gift which we can give to ourselves and others. He urged upon the people and youth in particular to plant as many tress as they can.
“The benefits of planting trees are far-reaching and impact both the environment and society as a whole. One of the most obvious benefits is trees’ aesthetic appeal to our surroundings. They add beauty and tranquillity to urban areas, making them more inviting and pleasant” he added.
He while interacting with the students of Higher Secondary School Nagrota expressed his good wishes with them.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jammu in his vote of thanks expressed his gratitude to Director YSS and other senior officers of the Department for showering their blessings on the young students on this occasion.
Deputy Director Central of the Department Jatinder Mishra, Dy Director Planing Ravi Sharma, Executive Engineer of Engineering Wing J&K Sports Council and other officers of the civil administration accompanied Director YS&S.
Director Sports was later apprised about the initiatives of the Department being initiated in and around Jammu district for ensuring mega participation of Youth and particularly students in games and sports.
