In a bid to foster understanding, peace, and unity among the people from all walks of life, a special talk on “Kashmir and Socio-Religious Harmony” was organized by the School of Law, University of Kashmir and Kashmir Jurists.

The event brought together dignitaries, prominent speakers, scholars, and experts to discuss the significance of fostering communal harmony.

In a speech delivered by the Guest of honour, PBS Lamba who briefed about the significance of socio- religious harmony and its impact on the different communities across the nation.

The Guest of Honour Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof. Neelofar also shed light on Kashmir and Socio religious harmony which keeps us all united together.

Kashmir which is known for its breathtaking landscapes and cultural diversity, has unfortunately been marred by decades of political and religious tensions.

The recent years have witnessed several upheavals, leaving behind a trail of violence and suffering for its inhabitants.

In an effort to address these issues and envision a path towards reconciliation, the special talk aimed to create an inclusive platform for dialogue and understanding.

Pertinently, the special talk session which started and concluded by playing the national anthem, left the audience emotional for a while.

Meanwhile, the talk was emphasized on the need to uphold the principles of coexistence and mutual respect among the diverse communities residing in the region.

The speakers called for a collective effort in building bridges and breaking down barriers that have kept communities apart for far too long.

Eminent scholars and academics followed the religious leaders, shedding light on the historical context of Kashmir and its unique syncretic culture.

They highlighted how, throughout history, Kashmir had been a beacon of religious harmony, where people of different faiths lived together in peace.

By revisiting the shared past, the speakers aimed to inspire a collective yearning for reclaiming that spirit of togetherness.

The emphasis was placed on dialogue, reconciliation, and finding common ground to address the underlying issues that have fueled the conflict.

It was agreed that promoting dialogue and understanding at the grassroots level would be essential in fostering a sense of belonging among all communities, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

People from various walks of life expressed their support for the cause and called for more such initiatives to be replicated in other conflict zones around the world.

By embracing the values of unity in diversity, there is a glimmer of hope that a brighter and more harmonious future awaits the people of Kashmir.
