YSS Ganderbal continued its activities in the Third and the final Day of the Sports Festival in Panchayat Safapora- D of the District today as on 13-07-2023. Events of Volleyball and Tennis Ball Cricket were conducted in which a large number of Youth of the Panchayat Participated with immense Enthusiasm. DYSSO Ganderbal Mr. Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal graced the occasion with his presence. The officer congratulated the Sarpanch Mr. Mehraj Din Sheikh and all the concerned staff for making this festival a grand success and also assured that the department is always available in providing necessary staff and facilities for conducting such type of events. He encouraged the youth of the panchayat to take part in sports activities and refrain from using illegal substances. Meanwhile YSS Ganderbal conducted Inter school Zonal Level competitions in the Discipline of Badminton for Boys U/17 years at Sultania EMPS Ganderbal and for Girls AAG at BHSS Hariganiwan. The Event witnessed the Enthusiastic participation of 36 budding boys Badminton players of Zone Ganderbal and 55 girls student players of Zone Hariganiwan. The meritorious student players were felicitated with well-deserved medals by the senior officials of the department after the culmination of the activity. Moreover Zonal Physical Education office Kangan Organized a Zonal level Inter School YOGA competition for Girls AAG. The Competition was held at BMS Preng in which a Total of 30 enthusiastic students participated from both Government and Private Institutions. Furthermore GHS Shallabugh Ganderbal Conducted an Inter School Chess Competition for Boys and girls of U/14 and U/17 years. A large Number of students of the school Participated in the said Event.
*District Budgam*
The Department of Youth Services and Sports Budgam, led by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mr. Balbir Singh Sodhi, flourished today with inter-school zonal level tournaments around the District Budgam. Zone Hardpanzoo organized Handball and Badminton for both Boys and GIRLS U/19 at HSS HARDPANZOO. Zone Dreygam organized chess, Carom & Table tennis Boys / Girls U/19 at HSS Parnewa in which more than 40 students have participated. The said event was inaugurated by In-charge Activity Mr. Farooq Sajad. Zone Chadoora organized Kho-Kho, volleyball and Kabaddi for U17 boys at open ground Rangar Chadoora. The inauguration of the said event was done by ZPEO Mr. Syed Muzammil Geelani.  ZONE B.K Pora organized Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho Competition of Boys  U/17. Zone Budgam conducted Kabaddi competition for boys U 14/and U/17 at BHSS BUDGAM. The inauguration of the said event was done by worthy ZPEO Mr. Tariq Ahmad accompanied by Mr. Kousar Ahmad Shah activity in charge zone Budgam. Zone Soibugh has organized today Judo & Taekwondo AAG Boys at NIET Soibugh in which more than 80 students have participated. The said event inaugurated by In-charge ZPEO Mr. Ayoub and Principal of NIET.   ZONE KHANSAHIB Organized Volleyball Competition of Boys U/14. The event was inaugurated by Principal of Degree College Khan sahib Dr. Nargis Bano. A large number of boys have participated from various Govt./Private Schools of Zone Khan sahib with great enthusiasm.
After availing the summer break, the department of YSS Srinagar has started activities at different Zones. In order to showcase the sports skills and abilities in the discipline of football, Zonal physical education officer Eidgah Srinagar has conducted the selection of trails for girls falling under the age group of 17 and 19 years. The girl participants from Govt as well as private Schools of Zone Eidgah have enthusiastically participated in these selection trials. More than 40 girls in both the age groups participated. The event was conducted at GBHSS Nawakadal. Toiba Tabassum, the principal of the institution inaugurated the event and interacted with the participants. The event was supervised by the zonal physical education officer of zone Eidgah Mr. Javid Ahmad Malik along with his officials. These selection trials will lead the participation of talented girls in forthcoming inter zonal football competitions.
