A Special Police Officer (SPO) allegedly ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle in Kathua district on Monday, officials said.
They told that the SPO (name withheld) posted at Saniyal Border post under Hiranagar Police station, fired upon himself and died on the spot.
He said that it was not immediately known as to why he took the extreme step, adding he said investigation is underway in this regard.
