Karnah Kupwara:On the occasion of World Environment Day, NSS Unit and Seminars and Debates Committee of GDC Tangdhar organised a series of event under the Banner of Mission Life. The events included an essay competition on the title “Implications of Single Use Plastic on Environment”, cleanliness drive of a water body, awareness programme of Solid Waste Management and finally a Speech Competition on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”. These programme were conducted from 1st June to 5th June 2023. Many students of the college and faculty members participated in all the programmes with great enthusiasm. In essay competition Faizan Maqsood of 4th Semester and Shahzeb Geelani of 2nd Semester got first and second position respectively whereas third position was jointly shared by Obaid-ur-Rehman and Hamza-Bin-Javaid shared third position. Good number of students also participated in speech competition on the theme “held on 5th June 2023 in the college. Rashid Iqbal of 4th Semester, Rafia Sheikh and Gazala Mashkoor of 2nd Semester scored first, second and third positions respectively. Cash prizes and merit certificates were distributed among The students by College Principal Prof. Haroon Rashid Boked. The whole series of activities were coordinated by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad and Convenor Seminars and Debates Prof. Ajaz Ahmad.
