NORTH KASHMIR YS&S DAILY ROUNDUP (NORTH KASHMIR) The Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K organized a series of exhilarating sports activities across various districts in North Kashmir, engaging hundreds of students and promoting physical fitness, healthy competition, and cultural appreciation. In Bandipora district, an enthralling trekking expedition took place in the scenic Gurez Valley. Coordinated by the Zonal Physical Education Office Gurez, the expedition aimed to provide an enriching experience for the students of HS Chorwan. Sixty students, both boys and girls, participated in this transformative journey, exploring the mesmerizing landscapes and showcasing their talents through vibrant displays of the local Shina cultural program. DYSSO Bandipora Nazir Ahmad Bhat, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Zonal Physical Education Office Gurez, the Headmaster of HS Chorwan, and all the students for their contributions in making the trekking expedition a resounding success. These initiatives not only promote physical fitness and adventure but also foster a sense of pride and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the region. In Zone Sumbal, a parallel event took place with the Annual Road Race for U14/17 boys and girls. The race, flagged off by Sarpanch Rakhi Shilvath, witnessed impressive participation from 250 enthusiastic participants. The route covered the distance from Check i Ganastan to MS Shilvath. The Department of Youth Services & Sports congratulates all the participants for their outstanding performance in the race, and medals and certificates were distributed among the top five position holders. Similarly, in Baramulla district, the Department of Youth Services & Sports organized an inter-school Cross Country Run for U14 and U17 boys. With the presence of the SHO Panzallah as the chief guest, the event aimed to promote physical fitness, healthy competition, and sportsmanship among the young students. More than 150 students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their determination and stamina. Furthermore, in Kupwara district, the Department of Youth Services & Sports organized various sports activities under the guidance of DYSSO Kupwara, Zahoor Ahmad Wani. The Annual Road Race, held in Zone Villgam, witnessed a participation of around 100 students in the U-14, U-17, and U-19 boys categories. Additionally, sports activities for tribal communities were conducted in Zones Khumriyal and Kralpora, promoting inclusivity and providing opportunities for talent from diverse backgrounds. A Yoga Event for girls was organized at BHS Nutnussa, promoting physical and mental well-being.  Such initiatives highlight the department’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent, providing platforms for students to shine, and promoting a culture of fitness, sportsmanship, and cultural appreciation. Publicity Coordinator For (North Kashmir)                      .     *SOUTH KASHMIR* Department of Youth Services and Sports District Pulwama organised sqay martial arts competition at Birla school Pampore for boys U/14 And 17 age groups. All the arrangements  for the smooth conduct of the competitions were assigned to ZPEO Pampore. The event was inaugurated by DYSSO Pulwama in presence of ZPEO Pampore and other officials of the department.  The selectees will  represent the District in the next stage of the game. More than 200 participation was recorded for the event from the different zones of the district In Anantanag renowned International Arm Wrestler, Joby Mathew Showcased Strength and Determination at a Sports Event under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Joby Mathew, the esteemed international arm wrestler, participated in a captivating sports event held as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) on 29.05.2023, the event witnessed a remarkable display of strength, skill, and determination, as Mathew showcased his expertise and support for this noble cause. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide campaign aimed at creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free lifestyle among the citizens of India. As an ardent advocate for a healthy and drug-free society, Joby Mathew graciously accepted the invitation to be a part of this significant initiative. During the sports event,  his presence added an electrifying atmosphere to the event, highlighting the importance of sports in building resilience and a focused mindset. In addition to his remarkable performance, Joby Mathew actively engaged with participants and attendees, sharing his journey and emphasizing the significance of discipline, determination, and staying away from drugs for achieving success in any field. He emphasized that sports serve as a healthy outlet for individuals and can play a crucial role in preventing drug substances abuse. In another  event Zone Srigufwara organized Badminton for Boys under the Age group of 14 & 17 at different venues of which 105 were active participants in the said event while Zone Shangus organized Anti Drug Rally from HSS Shangus throughout the entire Village with huge participation of 250 on board. Accordingly Today DYSSO Shopian organized various sports activities in different Zones. In zone Vehil a volley ball match, Tug of war and a Cultural  programme  for Tribal Community were played at GHSS Ramnagri under  the banner of G20. In Zone Keegan Tug of war competition of boys and girls AAG was held at Sindoo Shirmal under the banner  of G20. 135 Students  took part in the competition. YSS  Shopian also Organized a Successful  Nature Walk  Activity from Shopian to Dachigam National Park .28 Students accompanied by  3 Officials  in the event. Yss Kulgam is to organise a late hour badminton tournament which is expected to be inaugrated by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam  Media coordinator For South Kashmir                       *CENTRAL KASHMIR* The YS&S J&K organized a series of exciting sports activities across various Districts in Central Kashmir. The Department is always on toes for promoting the sports culture and a sense of fitness and healthy lifestyle among the general masses.   Different Sports activities in connection with G-20 Presidency of India were organized in District Ganderbal, Srinagar and Budgam respectively. District Budgam under the guidance and supervision of BALBIR SINGH SODI (DYSSO BUDGAM) organized one day walkathon (Padh Yatra) and tracking event at zone Budgam. The said event was inaugurated by ZPEO Budgam Tariq Ahmad. Large number of students participated in these events with great enthusiasm. Moreover Zone Hardpanzoo organized Tenikoit for Boys and Girls AAG at HSS HARDPANZOO. The inauguration of the said event was done by ZPEO Hardpanzoo Farooq Ahmad Sheikh. Zone Magam has organized Tenni-koit event (single and doubles) for GIRLS U-14 and U-17 at LUCENT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MAGAM. The inauguration of the said event was done by Overall in charge Gh Nabi Shah PEM. A total of 65 Girls from different schools participated in this event. Zone Beerwah Organized Tenikoit For Girls All Age Group at BMS Beerwah In Which 104 Students Of Different Schools Participated With Great Enthusiasm. Zone Dreygam has also organized today Tenikoit for Girls U/14 & U/17 years at MS Palpora in which more than 67 students Participated. The Said Event Was Inaugurated By concern Sarpanch Gh Nabi Shah along with Headmaster GH Ahmad Bhat MS Palpora. Zone Nagam today conducted Handball Boys AAG at Government polytechnic college Nagam. Principal of Government polytechnic college Nagam thanked the concerned department for giving them the opportunity to host this event. At the end better performers were awarded with medals. Zone Budgam organized one day tracking event. The said event was inaugurated by worthy Headmistress Saleema Bano. A large number of Boys and Girls from different Government as well as Private Schools of all the Zones of the District participated in these events with great enthusiasm.  Meanwhile DYSSO Ganderbal Conducted selection trials in the discipline of Football in the age group of Boys U/17 years at MM Stadium Ganderbal today on 30-05-2023. The event witnessed a total participation of 55 students from all the Zones of the District. Young Footballers showcased their Talent fiercely and were very thrilled while participating in the said event. The Final Match of the Trials was played between Zone Ganderbal and Zone Kangan in which Zone Ganderbal emerged as winner by beating Zone Kangan by 2-0 at the end. The DYSSO Ganderbal Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal graced the occasion with his presence. The officer spoke about the importance of Fitness and stamina which a Footballer must acquire within him/her. He also gave some special tips about how to develop strategies and tactics in a game of Football. At last, the officer felicitated the Meritorious Teams with the well-deserved Trophies and gave his best wishes for the upcoming Provincial level competitions. Moreover Zone Hariganiwan of the District conducted Intramural in Kabaddi and Carom. The concerned Zone also conducted a Yoga Event at MS Yachihama for the students of both the genders. Despite Heavy Rains Today’s events were conducted with full passion and dedication.    On similar lines, DYSSO Srinagar also organized multiple sports activities in all the Zones of the District under the banner of G-20 Presidency of India and ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Starting with the Zone Batamaloo conducted the Inter School Zonal Level Events in chess /carom /Rope Skipping for Girls falling U/ 17 and U/19 at GHSS Rawalpora Srinagar in which 100 girls participated hailing from Govt. /Private Educational Institutions of Zone Batamaloo.  Publicity Coordinator For Central Kashmir.      Issued by I/c Media & Publicity Wing Directorate of YSS J&K
