KUPWARA, MAY 29: Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir along with Executive Engineer Irrigation & Flood control, Er. Arif Manzoor today conducted an extensive inspection visit of various, irrigation canals (khuls)  and irrigation storage tanks of  Lolab Vice Chairman inspected Dah-Gam Khul,  Cheepora Khul, Maidanpora Khul, Shatmuqam- Sogam Khul , Badibehra Khul, Water storage tank Wavoora and water Storage tank Cheepora-Changdi, The Vice Chairman took stock of damages caused to irrigation canals  and water storage tanks due to heavy rains and  floods.   He directed the respective Engineers to prepare estimates for their immediate reconstruction , restoration, de-silting besides asking them  to restore the heads of irrigation Khuls  and  ensure that the irrigation water reaches up to the tail end of every Khul. Later, a brief meeting with Engineers and field Functionaries of Irrigation and Flood control Department was also held at Darpora. While stressing for restoration of irrigation Khuls and irrigation Water storage tanks VC directed concerned engineers to restore the irrigation khuls and storage tanks on priority basis keeping in mind irrigation season. The Vice Chairman held an  interaction with PRIs and local residents.
