“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us; still will she cling to us and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness and cause peace to return to our hearts”. Mothers hold an important and influential role in constructing and molding the future generations. As it is said that behind every successful man there is a woman and this holds true for every mother for shaping the society. A mother’s love, care and guidance are essential in the growth and development of a child. They are the first teachers who instill values, morals and principles that defines the child’s personality. They are the ones who are always there to support the child’s goals and aspirations. A child learns a great deal from the mother and she is the first teacher of a child. What the child becomes in future, what he does and what path he takes is largely determined by what the mother has taught him during the years. Most children identify their mothers as their role models and they are right in doing so. She is a woman of strong willpower who has taken all the pains to bring a child into this world and has faced numerous problems while grooming the child to face the competition the world has to offer at every step. Working hard to derive desirous results and the motivation to do so are inspiration that the world takes from the sacrifices of a mother. The word “mother” itself is identified with love, care, selflessness, affection and attachment. All the happy memories of the childhood are associated with her and these bring a smile to every face. Even if someone grows to be the most successful or the most hated man in the world, a mother would always view him as her child. The opinion of the world has no impact on her views as she will still see her child with love and affection despite all the judgment by the world. Mothers play a pivotal role in maintaining the family and providing a stable and secure environment. They are also part of the workforce. Many mothers easily balance their careers juggling multiple responsibilities in every sector of the society; contributing immensely towards the economic development of the society. Mothers always put their families before themselves, work harder than their whole household, and still find time to make sure everyone is happy. In spite of this they are largely without support, encouragement and not accorded the respect that they deserve. It is because a she has sacrificed herself and her own aspirations to bring up successful children, that we have great leaders, athletes, artists, citizens who are changing and impacting the world. Mothers love can never be compared, replaced or doubted. She is the dearest friend, source of inspiration and motivation, the building block and the first teacher of the child. She has spent many sleepless nights so that her child can sleep peacefully and her care has shielded children from the cruel world. Mothers are the true building blocks of the society and a mother is a reincarnation of the god. Every Kashmiri mother wishes and prays that her children eschew that path of violence and be a part of nation building in days to come.
