DC Srinagar chairs District Quality Assurance Committee meet

JLNM Hospital, UPHC Hazratbal, UPHC Nishat recommended for National Assessment Certification

SRINAGAR, MAY 11-  In order to assess the quality for improvement of health standards and review the specific requirements and facilities for public health, a meeting of District Quality Assurance Committee (DQAC) was held under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad at Meeting Hall Of the DC Office Complex  here today.  The meeting was attended by State Nodal Officer for Quality Assurance, Dr jitendra Mehta, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Jameel, Deputy CMO, D Nighat Majeed, District immunization officer, Dr Nighat Yasmeen, District Health Officer, Dr Asifa, Deputy Medical Superintendent, JLNM Hospital, Dr Bilqees, Zonal Medical Officers of S R Gunj, Zadibal, Khanyar and Batamaloo, besides other concerned Officers.  During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review about requirements and facilities for public health, currently available at City Hospitals, Maternity & Childcare Hospitals, UPHCs and other Health Centres of the District and to assess the quality for improvement of health standards through service provision, patient rights, inputs, support services, clinical care, infection control, quality management and outcome.  After holding threadbare discussion, the Deputy Commissioner recommended JLNM Hospital Rainawari, UPHC Hazratbal and UPHC Nishat for National Assessment Certification.  The DC urged upon Health functionaries to come up to the expectations of the patients and focus on quality assurance, accessible, affordable health care in the District.  The DC also directed the concerned officers to project the issues that require intervention of the administration by paying site visits and monitoring timeliness, quality of assets.  On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the Officers of the Health Department and other senior Health functionaries to follow the standard operating protocols and processes for maintaining quality at Public Health Institutions.  The DC also asked the Health functionaries to undertake  interventions and upgradation measures to recommend UPHCs of Batamaloo, Channapora, Lalbazar, Mulfaq etc for National Assessment Certification.  Later, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of maternal deaths in the District for the year 2022-23. He stressed the Health functionaries to follow guidelines and necessary precautions in advance to minimise maternal deaths in the District. The DC also emphasised on effective functioning by Asha workers by ensuring timely monthly reporting about maternity related cases in their respective areas strictly as per laid down guidelines issuedguidelines issued by the Health Department.
