DC emphasises on speeding up process, extensive SVEEP awareness programes,

PEERZADA SAYEED: KUPWARA, MARCH 12 : Deputy Commissioner (DC),Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray who is District Election Officer (DEO)today convened a meeting  of EROs and AEROs of Kupwara district to review Special Summary Revision(SSR) of Electoral Rolls-2023 at Mini- meeting hall of DC office complex Kupwara.   The Deputy Commisioner  took a detailed review of the progress achieved under updation of votes in all assembly segments of Kupwara district.  Deputy Commisioner directed concerned EROs and AEROs to register all eligible electorates in all Assembly segments of the Kupwara District so that no eligible voter is left out unregistered. On the occasion, DC was given a detailed overview about the exercise and it was given out that the Special Summary Revision(SSR)–2023 was continuing smoothly according to action plan. Deputy Commisioner stressed upon the concerned to achive the target within the stipulated time frame. Speaking on the ocasion, DC emphasized on conducting extensive SVEEP awareness programmes in all the Assembly Constituencies of the District to maximise registration of all eligible electorates and asked the concerned to display the banners at important places. The DC said that the prime objective of the Special Summary Revision (SSR)–2023) is to keep the Electoral Roll updated and to provide an opportunity to get fresh enrolment of young eligible voters having attained the age of 18 or more as on qualifying date and to give opportunities for correction in particulars of electors and also to invite objections against any wrong inclusion in the Electoral Roll. The DC  instructed all the EROs/AEROs to speed up the process of SSR  and supervise the process with focused attention to ensure 100% registration of all eligible voters and ensure no elector is left unregistered keeping in view the limited time period. The DC directed the concerned Officers to conduct revision strictly in accordance with the ECI guidelines as per schedule and complete the process within the given timeline. The DC also stressed on conducting analysis of Electoral Rolls to identify the areas and polling parts where some voters have remained unregistered in the Electoral. DC asked the concerned Officers to call the meeting of BLOs of all the district so that desired progress is achieved.  ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan,ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, Dy. District Election officer Mehraj Din Wani, ACR Kupwara, SDMs and all Tehsildars of the district, Officials from District Election Authority Kupwara and other concerned were present in the meeting.
