KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 13: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner(DC), Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a  joint meeting of Officers and presidents of various Traders Federations (PTF) of Kupwara district.

The Assistant Director Food, Wali Mohammad, Area Marketing Officer Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Mushtaq Ahmad and District Information Officer, Mohammad Yousuf Mir were present in the meeting.

The meeting was convened with the aim to discuss the availability of food grains and other essential commodities on Government approved rates in view of ensuing festivals of  Shab-e Mehraj and Maha Shivratri and upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting held threadbare discussion during which Assistant Commissioner (R)  got feedback from the traders as well from the officers.

The ACR asked presidents of the all Traders Federations and Market Associations to ensure smooth and hassle free supply of essential commodities on Government approved rates and desist from any kind of hoardings, black marketing and preferring. He also asked concerned officers including Assistant Director, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Area Marketing Officer Horticulture Planning & Marketing to intensify the market checking in all the towns of the district including Kupwara, Handwara, Sogam, Tangdar, Langate, Trehgam and Kralpora.                   Traders were also asked to display Government approved rate lists in their shops/ establishments .                       Earlier,  the President Traders Federations Kupwara  Showkat Masoodi,  president Traders Federations Handwara Ajaz Ahmad Sofi and other presidents of Traders Federations spoke on the occasion and assured coperation with district adminstration. They also raised certain issues in the meeting. The AC R  assured them to redress all issues in a time bound manner.
