JAMMU, JANUARY 09: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of self employment schemes by different departments, here in the DC Office complex.  CPO, Joginder Katoch, besides Officers of concerned departments including Project Manager, DIC Jammu, DD Employment, Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu, Chief Horticulture Officer, Jammu, Chief AHO/SHO Jammu, along with senior officers KVIB, Handloom, KVIC, NRLM etc attended the meeting.  At the outset, the DC took detailed review of physical progress made with respect to self-employment generation in the district by   Employment, Horticulture, Agriculture, Fisheries, Floriculture, Handicraft, Handloom, DUDA, NRLM, SC/OBC Dev Board and Banks.  The officers briefed the DC about the status of coverage of beneficiaries under the self employment schemes of their respective departments.  It was informed in the meeting that a total of 5049 cases have been sponsored out of which 3445 have been sanctioned and 2598 cases have been disbursed so far.  The Deputy Commissioner emphasized upon the officers to put in extra efforts to reach out to the unemployed youth and motivate them to avail the benefits of self employment schemes launched for JKUT.  She exhorted the officers of stakeholder departments to lay focus on enhancing skills of the job seekers in line with the person-job fit model so that maximum youth could get employed as per their skill sets.   She also asked the concerned to encourage the youth to avail self-employment schemes to lead a dignified life.  The Deputy Commissioner also stressed upon officers of line departments to work in close coordination to achieve desired results.
