JAMMU, Jan 4: In a bid to vie for the top honours and get the nod of the expert panel of the adjudicators, the young cultural artists drawn from various districts of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir displayed extraordinary skill and talent to mesmerise a huge gathering of audience on day-3 of the ongoing Inter-District Youth Festival, being organised by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports at Teachers Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, here today. The adjudicators observed the group performance of the artists keenly and have almost finalised the list of the artists on the penultimate day of the Festival today. The judges while lavishing praise on the artists said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are immensely talented and the need is to harness their energies and channelise their talent properly. They said the events like this provide ample opportunity to the youth to hone their skill and showcase their talent. The selected probable will be part of the UT contingent which will proceed for the National Youth Festival to be held at Hugli in Karnataka from January 12 to January 16, 2023. In multiple cultural events, the artists hailing from different Districts of J&K exhibited the cultural diversity of the UT disseminating the message of the culture of their respective areas. The programme is being carried out under the aegis of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K. The event is being adjudicated by a panel of experts comprising of Bishan Das, former Cultural Officer, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages; Antu Kotwal, Folk Singer and Ravi Sharma, Choreographer.
