Healthy food ensures brighter future for posterity: DC

   GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 16: District Administration Ganderbal along with Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Ganderbal in Collaboration with ICDS and Food safty Department today celebrated World Food Day in the district.

The main event was held at Mini Secretariat complex lawn which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir,  Director Tourism, Faz lul Haseeb and Assistant Director FCSCA Ganderbal Dr. Naseer Ahmad Baba who  interacted with Children and other Participants and highlighted importance of Food and its management.

   World Food Day is observed every year on October 16 worldwide to raise awareness on the issue of hunger and the wastage of food. It also celebrates the foundation day of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations.

     This year, the theme for World Food Day 2022 is ‘Leave No One Behind’ which focuses on building a sustainable world for everyone, everywhere with regular access to enough nutritious food.

 Speaking on the occasion, the DC said world food day is celebrated annually to promote global awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger. He urged the children and other participant to eat healthy and nutritious diet, free of pesticides, processing or additives which is essential to one and all and it not only promises good health but also ensures a brighter future for posterity.

Meanwhile, food packets, fruits etc were also distributed among participants as gesture that no one is left behind.
