Pakistan is known in the entire world for being breeding ground of terrorism. These terrorists are involved in carrying out violent atrocities in different parts of Pakistan as well as in countries outside Pakistan. Many hard-line clergies and ulema are involved in preaching radical ideologies and capitalising on religious sentiments of common masses. Playing the religion card, they have a large scale following in Pakistan and even challenge the authority of government since they have support of masses. They have capability of creating social unrest and socio-political drama created before ouster of Imran Khan government is a live example of their nuisance value. These ulema and clergies target young boys from illiterate, backward and financially weak section of the society for recruitment into their folds. Those families who have many mouths to feed with meagre economic resources are easiest prey. Children from such families are picked up quite young and heavily radicalised. These thoroughly brain washed children are indoctrinated to the extent of taking their own life in name of religion and being rewarded after death. When these highly radicalised youth come out of the walls of madrasas after their indoctrination process, they are a potent tool in themselves to spread radical ideologies of their masters.
The job of these motivated, radicalised youth is to spread hard-line philosophy and paint dreams of creation of an Islamic world with no space for followers of other faiths. Adopting of path of blood bath in achievement of this goal is acceptable and advocated. Death is glorified, if it comes while following this goal. These youth are trained to survive in harsh conditions with very minimum requirements of life. Tough physical training and basics of weapon training is imparted to selected lot. Some of them are prepared to have mental robustness of taking on suicidal mission also. Indoctrinated youth are christened as Jihadis and made to believe to be having very lucrative awards in heaven if they die fighting in the name of religion.
Such people, who join rank of Jihadis, have got no family values and their heart & mind are unaffected with any type of humanitarian emotions. They don’t have any respect for human rights of other’s and shutters of their brain is closed to any type of rational thinking. Inflicting fatal injury on unknown, unprotected, vulnerable, innocent people including women & children does not touch the cord of their hearts. Such emotionless people with utter disregard for safety of others, criminal bent of mind are very dangerous for any peace-loving society.
These clergies have their own outfits and followers. They receive donations and aids to keep their machinery running and efficiency of their organisation is judged depending on the number of atrocities carried out. Gradually, they have managed to have their roots in all parts of the society and spread their philosophy. Their speeches and preaching are generally based on spreading hatred and intolerance against everyone who does not follow their faith. They encourage the young people to pick up weapon against those who are non-followers of their faith and establish a pan-Islamic state as per the rules of Sharia. Some of them are arrested and legal action is taken against them for spreading hatred and propagating terrorism. However, it is generally an eyewash. They receive VIP treatment while in custody and are released shortly after being detained. Since no government wants to annoy them or buy their wrath. It is just to paint a false picture to the world community about legal action being taken against such hard-liners.
The minority community of Pakistan mainly consist of Shias, Hindus, Christians, Ahmadis, Bahais, Sikhs, Parsis, Buddhists etc and they are very easy as well as soft targets for the radicalised jihadis. People from Baluchistan who have different ethnic root from other Pakistanis are also mistreated by the radicals. Even the administration carries out discrimination against the minority people and fails to grant them social, financial, personal and religious security. The religious places of minority community people are often vandalized and desecrated. There have been numerous incidents of terrorist attacks on religious places of minority community. Their properties are grabbed forcefully. A social alienation is there against people of minority community. Abduction of girls of minority community, forced conversion and marriage is a common phenomenon. Heinous crime against women and children of minority community goes unreported and those committing the crime roam around freely. There is no security of human rights for the people of minority community. There is hardly any organisation to voice the concern of minorities in Pakistan. Even debates in the parliament regarding rights of minorities is suppressed in the name of being un-Islamic.
Pakistan is the same country which carried out mass atrocities and human rights violation in East Pakistan that led to creation of Bangladesh. It has failed in every respect in granting and ensuring the fundamental right of life and property to its citizens of minority community. The political leaders of Pakistan keep on speaking falsely about human rights in Kashmir in different forums to keep away the focus of their own citizens from realities of their country. There is a need to bring out the truth in the eyes of the world about sufferings of minority community in Pakistan and pressurise them to protect the human rights of its citizens of minority community against atrocities being committed by radicals.
