15 Vehicles & 01 JCB involved in illegal mining seized at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 03: In its continued efforts to curb illegal mining in the District, the Geology and Mining Team Anantnag headed by District Mineral Officer seized 15 vehicles and one JCB found involved in illegal extraction/transportation of minerals from Sandran Nallah and other areas on 01 September, 2022 and intervening night of 01 and 02 September 2022.

As per reports, the operation was carried out by Geology and Mining Department in various areas of District Anantnag   including Checki Rajwali, Damjan, Shankerpora, Mehmooabad, Dooru and Larkhipora with the help of police  from Qazigund and Dooru  police stations as a result of which 01 JCB,  15 vehicles including 11 tractors,  03 tippers and 01 screener were seized.

After seizure the vehicles were retained by respective police stations till realization of penalty from the offenders as per the rules of Geology and Mining Department.
