Shopian, Aug 27: In view of rising drug abuse cases in J&K, an Anti-Drug awareness rally was organized by GSPFP Chief J&K Firdous baba at South Kashmir’s Shopian.
The students and staff of New Greenland Education Institute Shopian also participated in the rally and joined the massive rally to mark the ‘awareness against Drug Abuse and corruption’. More than 600 people participated in the rally. The rally was organized to create awareness on the growing menace of drug-addiction among youngsters and was flagged & lead off by Firdous Baba, chief GSPFP, J&K.
The rally started from the Institutes campus and covered various villages falling within 4 km from the campus. GSPFP lead the rally by carrying placards with messages urging the public to adhere to the principles advocated by eminent scholars and philosopher’s of yesteryears. Messages about the disastrous effect of drugs on individual and society’s health and economy were created.
Placards against corruption and appeals on help in preventing youth to fall for drugs were on display.
Meanwhile, the program was much appreciated by everyone who witnessed the event and it was effective, as the doubts raised by the public were cleared. The locals appreciated the steps taken by the GSPFP and said that the programme was good and more informative and created awareness.
