RAMBAN, AUGUST 09:  Ashoora, marking the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) grandson, Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions in the battle of Karbala 1400 years ago, was  observed in district Ramban today.

A mourning procession was taken out by the Shia muslim community members at Chanderkot  from Imambada to Karbala via main market amid religious slogans praising the  martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his 72 warriors.

Imam Basharat Hussain, who led the procession, while talking to people said the day marks the victory of the truth over evil.

Meanwhile, the civil and Police Administration Ramban had made foolproof security and other necessary arrangements for the convenience of devotees.

To boost the solidarity in the society  prominent citizens, members of civil society and people from different religious communities were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile the Shia community members organized Shabeels   (drinking water)  and distributed food  among the general public.

Dy. SP, Pardeep Singh, Tehsildar, Rafiq Ahmed, Doctors along with ambulances  and  other officers were present on the occasion.
