KARGIL VICTORY FLAME REACHES URI

Srinagar, 13 Jul 2022.    The Kargil Victory Flame was received at Uri Military Station on 13 Jul 2022. Commander, Kalapahar Brigade laid wreath on the behalf of all ranks of Uri Garrison.   The Kargil victory flame had commenced its journey from Headquarters, Northern Command, Udhampur on June 17, 2022 and reached Uri today. The victory torch is being carried across the country to commemorate the remarkable victory over Pakistan in Kargil war in 1999.

 Local population, School Children, Ex Serviceman and NCC Cadets supported the event wholeheartedly. The event saw school children participating in a painting competition and also taking part in a cultural program. The commemorative march with the Victory Flame started from market area till the Uri War Memorial, where it was placed with full military honours.   This Eternal Flame reminds us of the indomitable courage of the Indian Armed Forces during the war and it’s a tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland during Kargil war.
