Srinagar, 28 May 22. Based on specific input regarding the likely presence of terrorists in the general area of Village Shitipur, Anantnag in South Kashmir, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian Army and JKP at approximately 01: 00 PM.
As the security forces approached the target area, the hiding terrorists brought indiscriminate fire on the security forces. Own forces retaliated with precision engagement and in the ensuing fire-fight, two terrorists of HM were neutralized. Two AK rifles and other war like stores have been recovered from the encounter site.
The slain terrorists have been identified by JKP as Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie, R/o Shalagul, Anantnag and Yawer Ayoub, R/o Dogripura, Pulwama.
