As part of Public outreach programme, Thana Diwas; an initiative of Government of J&K, was organized by Ganderbal Police at Police Station Safapora and PS Gund in which large gathering of people took part.
The Programme was chaired by DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Shri Ghulam Hassan-JKPS and SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS.
Under the jurisdiction of PS Safapora, DySP Headquarters Ganderbal chaired the meeting in which DDCs, BDCs, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Masjid Aquaf Committee and general public participated. Besides SHOs Police Station Safapora Inspector Manzoor Ahmad, other officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
In the event, large gathering of public participated and highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
Moreover, under the jurisdiction of PS Gund, the meeting was presided by SDPO Kangan Shri Yasir Qadri-JKPS and Ist Class Magistrate Gund, in which SHO Gund Inspector Arshid Salafi, respectable persons of village Gund, Surfraw, Rezen , Hariganiwan, Kullan, Sumbal Rayil ,Ramwari participated. The people were assured secure environment for up coming SANJY-2022. The participants also assured a full cooperation to police for maintainence of peace and tranquility. Various other issues were highlighted by the respectables of the area. People demanded youth club and public Library for those students who are needy and can not afford text books.
Further, Chairing officers said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear and redress the grievances of common masses and further added that Community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.
Referring to the criminal activities in the area, it was stressed upon the officers to brace up with a missionary spirit to fight against drug abuse and eradicate other social evils from the society and to take a pledge to serve the society with missionary spirit and maintain the dignity of force. The participants were requested to co-operate with Police in maintaining Law and order in the area and identifying Anti National and Anti Social Elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Finally, the event was concluded with the vote of thanks from both sides.
