Ganderbal // Zubair Tantre // KMN // Social activist and District Secretary of Apni party Ganderbal Muhammad Amin Shah has expressed his concern over the sufferings of patients in hospitals in District Ganderbal. He said that District Hospital Ganderbal, Sub District have lack of doctors and paramedical staff in hospitals, PHCs and other medical centers including sub-centers is a major problem for the people especially the patients who are currently admitted in these medical centers. While the staff working in these medical centers under NRHM is working diligently. CMO Ganderbal Afroza Rashid is also playing her role to strengthen and consolidate this sector. The shortage is hampering their efforts as the district Ganderbal currently has a large number of trained doctors, BSc Nurses, Lab Technicians and other skilled people in the sector who are looking for jobs, Shah said. If these available technical/ skilled youth are adjusted/ employed to these medical centers at the district level under NRHM or any other recruitment scheme will strengthen the sector on the one hand and the people of Ganderbal on the other. Shah appealed to UT LG Mr. Manoj Sinha, Commissioner Health sector, Director health, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Krittika Jyotsna and CMO Ganderbal Afroza Rashid to take personal interest and look into this long standing issue so that patients do not have to turn to hospitals in Srinagar and At the same time, the administration should take immediate steps to provide facilities for conducting CT scan and MRI tests along with other tests at the District Hospital Ganderbal. Amin Shah has stressed that the steps should be taken to address the seriousness of the problem so that the hospital staff can improve the functioning of the hospital and the treatment of patients.
