Srinagar, 25 April 2022. Based on intelligence inputs received from JKP regarding the likely presence of terrorists in village Pohu, Pulwama, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian Army and JKP in the area at about 02:15 PM on 24 Apr 22.
Own Forces established an initial cordon around the suspected cluster of houses in village Pohu by 02:45 PM and at around 04:00 PM, as the cordon was being tightened, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the Security Forces. Own Forces swiftly returned fire with precision and the firefight continued till 05:30 PM at which time firing by the terrorists subsided. During subsequent search of the house where the terrorists were hiding, it was found that three terrorists had been neutralised. Weapons and other warlike stores were recovered from the encounter area.
According to the JKP all three neutralised terrorists belonged to the terror tanzeem LeT and have been identified as Abu Huzaifa @Chhotu @Wahab, a resident of Pakistan, Arif Farooq Hazar, a resident of Wagum, Pulwama, who had joined terrorist ranks on
02 Apr 21 and Natish Shakeel Wani, a resident of Khanyar, Srinagar, who had joined terrorist ranks on 16 Apr 22.
