UDHAMPUR, MARCH-24:- Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur, in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell Government College for women Udhampur, on Thursday hosted a workshop on “Cyber Crime” focusing “on-line safety tips.”
As many as fifty students of Degree College participated in the workshop.
In his key note address, Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, ADGP, Director S.K Police Academy Udhampur, shared information of trainings curricula of different courses wherein the academy imparts training to IPS probationers and other ranks including Gazetted officers of J&K Police, Fire Services and J&K Forest Department. He underlined need for reaching out to the most energetic and fragile social groups particularly the college students to update their knowledge about nuances of cyber crime.
Cyber consultant, Nayeem Abaas Hamdani explained various safety measures to be borne in mind particularly when anonymous callers ask for password or for financial transaction. He also explained how to access police station through on-line portals and helpline numbers.
Speaking in the inaugural session, Professor Minu Mahajan, Principal GCW Udhampur, welcomed the expert team and expressed that organizing sessions on Cyber Crime for awareness of masses was the need of the hour. She asserted that awareness is the only tool for safety against dragnets of fraudsters and cyber stalkers.
The session was coordinated by Prof. Suneel Singh Barheyan (Convenor IQAC), Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Sanjeev Upadhyay, Prof. Tania Mahajan, Dr. Sumit Sharma, Mr. Arun Gupta, and Training division of S.K Police Academy Udhampur.
At the end of the lecture, hard and soft copies of material were provided to the participants.
