KUPWARA, MARCH 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited the fire victims at Behanpora Rajwar of Handwara sub-division whose residential houses got damaged in a fire incident, yester-night.
The DC was accompanied by DDC Member Rajwar, Suliman Mir and concerned officers.
On the occasion, the DC expressed his grief over the fire incident and provided Rs.10, 000 each to four families whose houses were fully damaged and gave Rs.5, 000 to the family whose house got partially damaged.
He also distributed kitchen utensils, blankets and other essential stuff among the affected families. The relief was provided under the District Red Cross Fund.
Later, the DC inspected various ongoing developmental works in the Rajwar area.
He visited Government Middle School Rajpora, Rajwar. He gave sanction of Rs. 4 lakh for construction of a protection wall around the school.
Besides, DDC Member, Suliman Mir also gave sanction of Rs.4 lakh out of his development fund for construction of the wall.
The DC also visited classrooms of the school and inspected the functioning.
