Children’s Day in the country is celebrated on 14 November every year as a tribute to India’s First Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
The day aims at increasing the awareness of the rights, care and education of children. On this day, many educational and motivational programs are organised across the country, by and for children.
With an aim to further strengthen the bonhomie with locals on the occasion of Children’s day, Army and the teachers of Hamid Chara AGS, Chandigam and AGS, Krusan emerged with a special programme for the students.
Programme began by welcome of children and introductory speech on children’s day by the principal of both the schools followed by cultural program, spot games, quiz & declamation competitions and screening of short film on children’s day.
At the end of the program sweets were distributed to children and program was culminated by prize distribution ceremony to winners followed by vote of thanks.
The event saw an enthusiastic participation from students of all age groups who were eager to share their happiness on the occasion. Total 92 students and 14 teachers from Hamid Chara AGS Chandigam and 78 students and 16 teachers from AGS, Krusan participated in the event.
Locals were very happy and appreciated the efforts made by army. Such celebrations will be continued in future for the positive growth and development of young minds of Kashmir.
