Gurez, Nov 13,: Two decades after the launch of mobile telephony in Jammu and
Kashmir, Jio tower for the first time have been erected Dangithal, PTL of Tulail area of Gurez town giving cellular connectivity to hundreds of
locals.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that on Saturday Jio erected at Dangithal village was made functional in presence of Jio Company and administrative officials.
Pertinently, after the repeated pleas from the locals, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had directed immediate installation of mobile phone tower in the area to provide connectivity to the residents.
“We are really thankful to the government and the Jio Company. For the first time people living in remote villages will get connected. It’s a great feeling for the people,” said a local.
Locals said that they are thankful to LG that finally this technology has come to their villages. (KNT)
