The International Day of Older Persons was observed for the first time on October 1, 1991. The day is celebrated annually to recognize the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives.
The theme for 2021 is “Digital Equity for All Ages” which affirms the need for access and meaningful participation in the digital world by older persons.
Keeping up with its motto of Awam aur Jawaan, Krusan COB of AWWAL ATTHAIS organised a door-to-door interaction followed by their health check-up by the Regimental Medical Officer, Awwal Athais and felicitation programme for Older person’s in Krusan and it’s adjoining villages.
Interaction, health check-up and felicitation with around 13 elderly persons were established. Covid protocols were strictly followed and masks were distributed to the elderly persons.
During the interaction the older persons were briefed about the interactive app launched by World Health Organisation (WHO) which provides health and social workers with an easy-to-use tool to deliver better care for older people.
After the interaction, the older person’s were felicitated with Shawl.
The Older person’s were joyed to see Indian Army personal who went to gift them on this propitious day.
