In a joint effort between Indian Army and Mr Onir, a renowned Bollywood director, the Kashmiri youths are being introduced to short film making through a workshop being conduced at Langate Army Camp from 27th to 31st August 2021.
A total of fifteen local youths, including one girl, are participating in the workshop. These participants were selected after a rigorous selection procedure. The workshop is being organized in two phases. First phase was online interaction with participants in which they were introduced to the nuances of the film making and the second phase is physical interaction which started today.
The training team comprises of five member including Mr Onir. Mr Onir is a national award winning director and had won National award for his film “My Brother Nikhil”
On day one, Mr Onir briefed participants on basics of film making and participants were divided into four teams. Each team chose one theme each for their short films, and were guided by the training team on refining their scripts.
Over the next three days, these teams will do outdoor shoots for their videos based on selected themes by visiting various locations in North Kashmir. These short films produced by the teams will be screened at Army Camp, Langate on 31 August 2021.
Mr Onir highlighted that the youths of Kashmir have got immense talent and he is confident that all participants will be able to produce good results. All participants were quite excited to meet Mr Onir and learn from him and his team members.
