Takes stock of its functioning

SRINAGAR, JULY 16: Director General Women and Child Development, Mir Tariq Ali today paid a visit to Hope Disability Centre to get an insight into the work undertaken in the way of physical rehabilitation of people with disabilities and the impact it is creating thereof.

During the visit, the DG accompanied by Executive Director HDC, Sami Wani, inspected the functioning of various sections.

After taking a tour of the premises, the DG held interaction with the staff to get a sense of the role played by the physical rehabilitation centre in the rehabilitation and how artificial limbs get fabricated in the Prosthetic and Orthotic unit of the HDC.

 The DG held a meeting with the management of HDC, wherein a comprehensive overview of the functioning of the organization and its intervention programs in several districts were presented. The DG was also apprised about how the administration has been facilitating the execution of HDC’s several projects at various levels.

He also spoke to a few beneficiaries waiting in the premises to collect newly fabricated artificial limbs.

The DG praised the kind of work HDC is doing and insisted on the staff present to pursue their passion with the same zeal and honesty and stressed on being upright in serving people with disabilities so that they can also live their lives with dignity and honour. He  also assured the concerned of full support from his department.

On the occasion, a donation camp was also organized during which artificial limbs, wheelchairs and walkers were donated by the guest among already identified persons with disabilities from Rajouri, Tangdar, Srinagar and Ganderbal.

The DG was accompanied by various officers and Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, was also present on the occasion.
