PDP Expresses Grief Over Killing Of Baby Girl By Leopard, Damages Caused By Flash Flood In Ganderbal

Srinagar, July 12: Peoples Democratic Party on Monday expressed profound grief over the tragic killing of a 3-year-old girl who was mauled to death by a wild beast in Zazna area of Ganderbal last evening.

The party also expressed grief over the loss of property due to flashflood in Watlar Ganderbal and urged the administration to compensate people on priority basis.

In a statement here, PDP leaders including Ghulam Rasool Shaheen, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Abdul Majeed Larvi, Afaq Ahmad and Nazir Ahmad described the killing of the 3-year-old baby girl by the wild beast as most tragic and said that they stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.

The party asked authorities concerned to step up efforts and ensure that the wild beast was captured immediately and also take steps to prevent such incidents from recurring in future.

“Leopard has been also spotted by locals in Shalbugh. It is imperative that wildlife department as well as other connected officers and officials take immediate and necessary steps so that such tragic incidents are not repeated in future,” they said and also demanded immediate compensation to the family of the baby girl from Zazna Ganderbal.

The leaders also expressed grief over the damages caused to houses, orchards and farmlands due to flashflood in Watlar Ganderbal and asked the district administration to set up a team to ascertain the damage immediately and ensure compensation was provided to the affected families forthwith. (GNS)
