Ganderbal 5th july:Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested another drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
During routine naka checking at Banday bagh near Husnush chinar point, Police party of Police Station Ganderbal led by SHO Police Station Ganderbal Inspector Salfie Arshid found a person in a suspicious condition who upon seeing Police party tried to flee away but after noticing such unusual behavior he was was subjected to frisking during which charas like substance 100 grams in weight was recovered from his possession. The accused disclosed his identity as Mohammad Shahid Gurra S/O Mohammed Shafi R/O Banday bagh, Ganderbal.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 125/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be strictly dealt under law.
