Srinagar, May 30: Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary (BJP) (organization) Ashok Koul on Sunday said that their party is committed to the development in Kashmir and over the past seven years of central governmnet BJP has reached every home in the country.
Addressing a gathering after listening to ‘ Mann Ki Baat’ at Bootapatri Gulmarg to mark the seven years of the Central government under the dynamic leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Koul said BJP is committed for overall development of Kashmir valley.
“We are committed to peace and development and will have zero tolerance against the corruption in Jammu and Kashmir and will set an example of good governance,” Koul said.
He said the seven years of Modi government have set examples as drinking water, electricity and good governance reached to our homes.
Koul also appreciated the role of doctors, police and covid warriors, urging people to follow guidelines and SOPs to combat the deadly virus.
“Our party workers carried out 970 programmes across the Valley as part of the campaign called ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ to mark the completion of seven years of the Modi-led government at the Centre,” he said.
“400 kits of ration, sanitizers, masks were distributed among the nomadic families at Bootapatri, Nagin 1 and Nagin 2 in Gulmarg area and a medical camp was also organised for them to carry out free health checkups and Covid19 tests,” Koul said.
The event was organised by District Kupwara Prabhari, Anwar Khan in which ration was distributed among the ST, nomad families.
On the occasion, Khan said during the past seven years, Modi Ji has revolutioned the country by various schemes meant for upliftment of other poor sections of the society.
“On each and every scheme of central government people are getting benefitted whether directly or indirectly. Be it a golden cards, Covid19 crisis, the government has managed it well,” he said.
Later on Sunday evening, Koul also distributed the ration kits among the families in Srinagar parts and stated that party leadership is committed for overall development.
While appreciating the work of the party in Kashmir, he said they have done a remarkable job during the Covid19 crisis and it should continue in future.
Party’s State Vice President Sofi Yousuf said previous government regimes failed to provide a platform to Kashmiri youth and due to which they were alienated from the mainstream.
“From the past seven years, youth are coming forward to join mainstream,’ he said.
Sofi Yousuf informed that party workers conducted 70 programmes in the district and Covid material, food kits, fruits were distributed among the families.
Senior party leader and Minority Morcha Prabari, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir organized a blood donation camp in LD hospital Srinagar. Mir said people have accepted BJP with open hearts and the party will continue to respect people’s faith and dedication.

He urged party workers to focus on awareness of Covid19 vaccines and SOPs so that none among the masses will miss the doses.

Publicity Secretary Incharge Kashmir Arif Raja said “BJP is the only party in J&K, which is seen active on ground and as it trains its workers the “Sewa Hee Sangthan’ means ‘Serving people is our mandate ’ and they will try every possible method to reach out people during pandemic,”
General Secretary, Yuva Morcha, Bilal Paray also conducted several programmes in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and stated that party.
