The wildlife department seems unmoved after a leopard was found dead in a defunct water tank at Killora area of Shopian in South Kashmir.
Locals allege that despite repeated calls to the wildlife department, no one from the said department visited the area to fish out the body of the leopard.
Several social media news pages carried the news of the incident since yesterday but that too couldn’t move the officials of the wildlife to take any action.
The water tank of Public Health Department is lying vacant past several years.
Locals said that foul smell has started pouring out from the carcass of the leopard and it can spread diseases in the area.
They appealed the district administration and wildlife department to take immediate actions to fish out the body of leopard from the water tank.
