April 23: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Budgam have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers from PS Chadoora established a checkpoint at Bugam Chadoora intercepted a person identified as Asim Mushtaq Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Bugam Chadoora. During checking, officers were able to recover 07 grams of Heroin from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
A case vide FIR number 45/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation was taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
