Srinagar, April 14: A 17-year-old boy became the fresh victim of cardiac stroke in Nowgam area of summer capital Srinagar on the first day of Ramadan.
According to the family members, he was sleeping in his room and wasn’t waking up despite knocking the door repeatedly. As the boy did not respond to repeated knocks on his door, the family members broke the door of his room and found him unconscious.
Soon after it he was moved to a nearby hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead on his arrival.
The deceased has been identified as Unaib Khurshid son of Khurshid Ahmad, a resident of Nowgam.
Notably, the Kashmir Valley has witnessed a surge in sudden cardiac arrests and scores of people have died due to cardiac arrest. The health experts have raised the alarm over the sudden deaths and have demanded investigation in these cases.
