KULGAM, MARCH 28: Department of Indian Systems of Medicine organised an awareness camp on promotion of healthy food habits(Poshan Pakhwada) among children here today.
The Campaign started at Chinar English Medium school Nillow Kulgam.
Dr. Abdur Rahman Rather, District Medical Officer, AYUSH Kulgam gave an awareness Speech regarding the importance of Healthy Dietary Habits for school children and also highlighted side effects of Junk Foods.
He also stressed to use the immune -boosting AYUSH medicines which are freely available at Government ISM institutions to combat Covid-19 pandemic.
A large number of students and teaching staff attended the programme.
During the camp free AYUSH medicines and Face Masks were distributed among the participants.
The District Medical Officer AYUSH Kulgam further added that the department of ISM has organised more than 200 camps from 4th April 2020 till date in which free Immuno-boosting AYUSH medicines were distributed to the general public.

Training Programme under PMKSY held in Srinagar
Preservation of water resources a fundamental duty: Director Agriculture Kashmir
SRINAGAR, MARCH 28: To highlight the importance of available water resources and to strategize the optimum and most effective use of water resources for the irrigation purposes and other agricultural activities, a training programme under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Seenchayee Yojana (PMKSY) was held at Mujgund Srinagar.
While interacting with the farmers, Director Agriculture Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal who attended the programme as Chief Guest said that preservation and conservation of water resources and the scientific use of every drop of water should be taken as a fundamental duty.
He said that our water resources are already on decline therefore we must ensure that the water available for irrigation purpose should be used in a most productive manner.
Earlier, Agriculture Extension Officer Qamarwari, Dr.Fayaz Ahmad Illahi, gave a brief presentation of the activities under PMKSY that are being executed in the high potential vegetable producing area of Mujgund and adjacent villages. He highlighted the importance of PMKSY under the present agriculture scenario.
A large number of farmers attended the day long training programme.
The Director was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Srinagar Mohammad Younis Chowdhary and other senior officers.
